Curing our sports addiction

(Pandemic Diary - day 152)

From my notes: 28 July 2020 (Tuesday)

… When I mentioned that this pandemic-produced lack of spectator sports might help people break their sports-spectator addictions (a process I went through several years ago, voluntarily, and yes I do feel better now), a friend was offended.

I somewhat accept her argument that my Netflix time is no more redeeming than her basketball time (although that truly is debatable). But for me it wasn’t an either/or thing, and the time I’ve liberated by no longer caring much about the NFL or college football has gone to reading (not Netflix).

That is almost certainly better.
