Holiday travel notes
(Pandemic Diary - day 201)
From my journal: 15 September 2020 (Tuesday)
The complex calculus of risk assessment.
What is the possibility that the virus is present?
What is the likelihood that you’ll catch it if it’s present?
Are you going to make your decision based on the most likely outcome, or the most dangerous outcome?
What’s the downside, what’s the worst case scenario?
Fact: our families have taken a much redder, riskier path through the pandemic than we have. (They’re entitled to make their own decisions, but our decisions that involve them must account for the decisions they’ve made.)
Thanksgiving and/or Christmas together? It’s not looking good.
