Holiday travel notes

(Pandemic Diary - day 201)

From my journal: 15 September 2020 (Tuesday)

  • The complex calculus of risk assessment.

  • What is the possibility that the virus is present?

  • What is the likelihood that you’ll catch it if it’s present?

  • Are you going to make your decision based on the most likely outcome, or the most dangerous outcome?

  • What’s the downside, what’s the worst case scenario?

Fact: our families have taken a much redder, riskier path through the pandemic than we have. (They’re entitled to make their own decisions, but our decisions that involve them must account for the decisions they’ve made.)

  • Thanksgiving and/or Christmas together? It’s not looking good.
