Polar vortex
(Pandemic Diary - day 72)
From my journal: 9 May 2020 (Saturday)
It’s almost the middle of May, and I ran in a snowstorm last evening.
The deck was covered by snow when we went to bed last night, there was still some snow on logs and so on when I got up this morning, and a couple moments ago we had another squall. Now the sun is shining and if you were looking out and didn’t know, you’d probably guess that it’s 60F out there. The plum tree in the back yard is in full bloom, the mayapples have popped up in the corners of the lot, the grass is tall and green, and it all says summer.
And of course it will be summer soon enough, and the sun has power now that gives the snow no chance of anything but a very brief moment. But it’s still a good day to mainly stay inside.
